Arrival & Venue Details
La Gloria's colorful signage and bold interior set the tone before a single guest sat down. Custom details bearing the couple's name were tucked throughout the space, playing off the venue's already vibrant palette of color, pattern, and texture.
Guests Arriving & Mingling
With the whole venue rented out, guests had the run of the space, and the cocktail-style format meant the energy stayed loose and social all night. Friends gathered in groups, the bride and groom made their way through hugs and hellos, and chips, ceviche, and margaritas kept the mood exactly where it needed to be.
The Mariachi Band
If there was one thing that defined this night, it was the mariachi band. They moved through the space throughout the evening, pulling the guests in for a few impromptu dance moments and keeping the entire energy high before dinner was served.
Toasts
The toasts were where the night slowed down, if only for a few minutes. There wasn't a dry eye at the table during a few of these — a grandmother's toast in particular brought the groom to tears, and the quiet moment of the couple holding hands under the table said as much as anything spoken out loud.
The Rest of the Night
As dinner wound down, the party found its second wind. Guests lingered over food, grandma snapped her own photos of the newlyweds-to-be, and by the end of the night, at least one very tired kid had called it quits on a chair in the corner — which might be my favorite photo of the whole gallery.
La Gloria at the Pearl continues to be one of my favorite San Antonio venues for exactly this kind of celebration — full color, full energy, and a couple who clearly wanted their rehearsal dinner to feel just as memorable as the wedding itself.
